Heartbreaking
I've been watching the forced evacuation of the Gaza Strip on television the past few days. It breaks my heart that so many hardworking Israelis are being forcibly evicted from thier homes.
Why IS Ariel Sharon making it a point to abandon the strip? I'm with Bibi Netanyahu, I think that the Israelis should stay. There is no such thing as "Occupied Territory" in Israel. The Israelis were attacked, and won the lands they settled. They are more defensible.
When the Israelis bought land in the area, at incredibly exhorbiant prices, it was desert. They introduced irrigation and worked hard to farm the land, and now it is some of the most fertile land in the Middle East. Now the Palestinians want it back. Of course they do. They see the successes of the Israelis, and they want the same success for themselves.
How long do you think it will take before the land and area is overridden with crime and poverty? The Palestinians can't self-govern themselves. Thier leaders are too corrupt, they don't care about anything but the hate they have for the Israeli people.
This pull out is WRONG.

For Shame...
I'm a little miffed at the whole "Anti-War" movement right now. Do they honestly think anyone is PRO WAR?
I'm a Soldier, and I'm not even "pro-war". I have a job to do, and I am going to do it. While I am not deployed to Iraq at the moment, I have deployed there and performed my mission. I did 14 months in that God-Forsaken place, but I'd go back to do 14 more. I know that what we are fighting for is much bigger than anything we could ever accomplish in our lives. We fight, to secure peace. As much as people hate to hear it, it's true. No one in the Army hopes to go out and kill someone, but we stand ready to, in the defense of the interests of the United States. If my Commander-In-Chief sends me to go fight, then I will fight.
If I learned anything in those 14 months in Iraq, I learned that without the United States securing the peace there, no one would.
I, like everyone else I serve with, volunteered for duty as a Soldier. I was not coerced, I was not drafted, and I was not bribed. I joined to better myself, and to be a part of something bigger and better than I could ever hope to accomplish alone.
And I thank God every single day that I am doing just that.
