Lines Are Drawn, The Battle Is Joined...
It was bound to happen, Tanker Brothers and Sisters: the Anti-War crowd has launched a dishonorable rhetorical attack on the Tanker Brothers.
Now, I've been noticing a disturbing trend in my daily Milblog reading: the Left is actively engaged in an IO campaign against the MilBlogging community. Their TTP (Tactics, Techniques, Procedures) is to conduct "drive by comment posting".
Today, I guess it was the Tanker Brothers turn.
I wanted to get the truth out.
Now, we have been personally attacked. We have been called (just in this post):
1. Hate Mongers
2. Murderers "killing innocent people"
3. Brainwashed
4. Foolish
5. Macho Nutcases
6. Clowns
7. Traitors
8. Brain damaged
9. Nazi Propagandist
But, of course, she also gives herself a pat on the back: "I defend our troops".
Umm...except for troops like us, I guess.
Hey, Nutjob, you forgot:
10. "Baby Killer"
11. to spit on me when I came home from Iraq
12. a "Red Stater"
13. a "Neo-Con"
(I reserve the right to edit this list when I calm down and can think straight)
Hmmm... for the record:
1. The "Science Fiction" you were referring to is called the "Future Combat System" (FCS). It's where the US Army Modernization plan is leading us to, and it will be the way we fight for at least the next fifty years. It gives the front-line Soldier an unprecedented amount of situational awareness, so that he can more effectively fight the battle. The vehicles are lighter, can shoot farther, and are more combat effective than any other ground-combat systems we have right now. FCS isn't "coming", Lady. FCS is "here".
2. We never professed to be heroes. Any man who calls himself a "hero" is the exact opposite. Those around us judge us for who and what we are. I will claim no title or distinction other than those given to me by the United States Army: I am a Sergeant First Class, a Non Commissioned Officer, a Tank Master Gunner, and above all else, a Soldier. I get up in the morning, I put my pants on one leg at a time, I strap on my Tanker Boots, and I accomplish my mission. That's what I do, and not one iota less.
Now, I don't expect you to come back and read my response. It wouldn't jive with your published TTP. That's okay, because cowards never return to where they may be engaged.

I have predicted this was gong to happen for months now: a new front has opened in the Global War on Terror, and it's 180 degrees away from where we should be fighting. Tanker Brothers and Sisters, the new front on the Global War on Terror is right behind me.
Thank God (and the US Army) that I'm issued two SAPI (small arms protective insert) plates with my Body Armor. Otherwise, I would have a frickin' knife handle stickin' out of my back right now.

| I am proud to be a friend of Jane Stillwater. On the other hand I would rather have a rattlesnake for a friend than a hate-monger like you. If you were doing anything for this country you wouldn't be in Iraq killing innocent people.
